I played baseball for 10 years, from 8 to 17 years old. Gathering achievements, creating friends and memories. My athletic ability and knowledge of the game also improved along the way. I participated in mixed teams where I was the only girl for 10 years. I have also participated in regional and provincial all-girls teams while playing on the boys team. Currently, I am volunteering at a local girls' baseball lesson to help build the next generation of superstars.
The challenge of playing on an all-boys baseball team is exhilarating. Being the only girl in a male-dominated sport, taught me to persevere through prejudice. I used to be quite shy around people, but baseball taught me to communicate and have fun with everyone, even my opponents, the referees and the crowd!
I am playing on Team Quebec U23 (AAA), the highest level of travel ball in Canada. As the youngest player on the team, 17 years old, I am working hard to take on this new challenge. Switching to softball brings me a step closer to my goal of studying and practicing this beautiful sport in the United States.
I am a hard worker, I listen carefully to my coaches, and I am the first to jump out of the dugout to congratulate my teammates on their accomplishments. My dream is to balance studies and softball at a higher and more exciting level. I believe I am the right fit for your program to achieve this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
