Since I was around 3 years old sports have been a big part of my life. I have been apart of softball, figure skating, hockey, archery, dance, bowling, gymnastics, and volleyball. Of those sports, I am actively in softball, hockey, and archery, with softball being my main focus. Without these sports from a young age I would not be the person I am, nor have the same skills. The most important skills I have learned are communication, time management, perseverance, how to win, and more importantly how to lose and deal with struggles. Softball in particular has taught me how to be a family with my team. Do not be the best, but be the best for your team. Being the best for the team does not just mean your current team, but also for the younger girls coming up and future teams.
I have played on many softball teams, the Carnduff Cosmos, South East Super Novas, Estevan Elites, and the South East Sun Devils. Because I have had many coaches all coaching differently, I have many tools to help me learn and find what is best for me in many aspects. For example last season and into the begging of this season I went through a batting slump where in previous seasons it was my strongest ability. With the many different types of coaching I was able to continue to battle through, and use their advice on how to mentally deal and physically change the things going wrong. However I left one person out who helps me the most, my dad. He always sends me videos, looks for camps, gives his personal wisdom, and helped me though tough times all to give me the best shot in life.
In my regular life I keep busy with school and work along with sports. It has been a challenge to balance school, sports, and personal life but I have learned mostly how to do so. I believe this is a reason to consider me to be apart of your team. I have already begun to learn these traits so I will not have to struggle as much with commitment as others might.
