I'M NOT FINISHED YET!
I have always loved sports and I love competing. From gymnastics to soccer and now softball. I began my softball career at the end of the summer, 2018, before my freshman year of high school. Since that first practice, I've been hooked and in no way have I reached my peak. I began by practicing with the former Westwood High School coach's travel team. The coach recognized my potential and I earned a spot on the varsity team and the role of a captain. At the end of that season I was given the sportsmanship award and was also nominated for The Newcomer of the Year award. From there I encountered what I call "The Big C's"...concussions, cancer (my mom), and COVID. Yet through all of those challenges, I stuck with softball and vise versa. Softball has helped me focus on something bigger than just my present life. Number 7 in the region for stolen bases, I led my high school team in triples, third on the team in batting average and still working for more. In just 3 years I have used my drive, determination, competitiveness, athleticism and leadership to not only participate, but work and compete as a serious player. I want to tell you again that I. Am. Not. Ready. To. Be. Done. I am coachable, I have not reached the ceiling in learning skills. I will continue to play, compete and lead my team now and hopefully at the next level in the future to the best of my ability. I would love to use my skills, gifts, and talents of leadership and athleticism to compete at the college level. Academically I have always applied the same skills and though virtual learning has been challenging for me, I have still persevered and done it all as best I could. I've always been interested in the medical field and for several years have focused on the veterinarian study, however with my latest experience with battling the Big C's, I've become really interested in psychology and the therapy side of things. I've been consistently in both honors and AP classes and have always been reminded to keep priorities straight when it comes to school first.
