Hello. I am your catcher/utility player, Mary Ellyn Hickey, out of Hartsville, South Carolina. I have high expectations on the field and in the classroom. In athletics, my primary goal is to lead the team and motivate them to become their best. Every time I step on the field, I want our team to win and hard work pays off so naturally my work ethic is to be the first on the field and the last to leave. I play for both a high school team, Hartsville High School, and a travel team, Carolina Elite - Cox. In my free time, I volunteer to give back to the community and provide the younger generation of softball players with a good role model. Academically, I participate in the International Baccalaureate magnet program, honors classes and the National Honor Society. I use my commitment, discipline and time management skills to achieve high GPA goals for securing scholarships and reducing the financial burden of expenses.
