My collegiate goal is to play softball in college. I will be a 4 year varsity HS softball player. I have been playing short stop but I am very versatile and feel like I can learn and play any position. I played slow pitch softball since I was 8 years old. Our team won state championships in all age divisions from 10U through 14U. When South Dakota added fast pitch as a state sanctioned sport, my HS also added fast pitch for the first time 2 years ago. Playing fast pitch for the first time was a bit of a learning curve. I feel I have adjusted to the change and have a lot of potential to continue to develop and grow. Our team made the SODAK 16 both years and nearly qualified for the state tournament in 2023-24.
I am a 4 sport varsity athlete. Besides softball I play volleyball, basketball and run track. I have won 8 state track medals including the 2022 SD State Class A 4x400 Relay Championship. I have 2 years left to try to have the most state track medals in school history. The current record is 11. I also have 5 school records in the 4X200, Medley, 4X400 and 4X800 relays and the 300 hurdles. My speed will be a asset to your softball program.
Something that may set me apart from other recruits is my ability to stay calm and focused in high stress situations. I am a kind, humble person with a good work ethic that will push myself to help my team win. I have a 3.44 GPA but feel I can improve this before graduation. It took me a little while my freshmen year to figure out how to balance academics while playing multiple sports. I missed a lot of school for games and track meets and my grades suffered a little my freshmen year. I was successful my sophomore year learning how to manage multiple sports with academics. Learning how to balance everything will be a good skill to have in a college setting.
