My name is Lauren Peterson, I am a student-athlete from Athens, TN and a member of the class of 2025. I am a right handed pitcher, middle infielder, and outfielder although I have played every position on the field. I started playing softball at the age of 7 for a travel team and have only worked to improve since. As a student-athlete I have learned many lessons, had many accomplishments, and have encountered many hardships that have made me into the person and athlete I am today. While playing softball in addition to being a student, I have gained a strong work ethic, self-discipline, time-management skills, problem solving skills, independence, and I have improved as a teammate, friend, and family member. Softball has improved my character greatly. Being a team player is one of my strongest values and goals; being a good, positive, hard-working, uplifting team player is an important attribute for an athlete in my opinion. My main goal is to improve myself and my game while uplifting and supporting my team. My freshman year I made the All-District Team after leading my team, as pitcher, to our first wins in 4 years. Also my freshman year, I maintained a 4.0 GPA as an honors student, advanced through the classroom and school rounds of STEAM Fair to compete at the county level, and won an award for Top 10 GPAs in the class of 2025. My sophomore year I improved my 4.0 GPA to a 4.05 while taking honors and AP classes and was awarded Top 10 GPA again. My goals for my future are to graduate with a 4.35 GPA, be a leader to both my high school team and travel ball team, make it to the state tournament, and compete at the college level while gaining a life-long education.
