My name is Jaleesa Smith. I am a 16 year old softball player who is looking to further my career and experience life as a college athlete. I am a passionate and driven person who likes challenges, so when I find something that I want to do, I do it to the best of my ability and work to be the best I can be.
Softball is one of those things that I have found and decided to put my mind to. I have been playing for 9 years and this sport has always been something that brought me joy and pushed me to, and beyond my limits. My favorite softball moments and accomplishments were going to state my freshman year of high school and earning 6 home-runs my junior year of high school. Softball is an extremely challenging ,so l’m always encouraged to try my hardest and work to improve so that I can become the athlete I aspire to be. When it comes to choosing a school to play I am open minded and am just wishing to go somewhere where I can continue to play softball with a group of great girls and great coaches.
I also strive to do my best academically, knowing that without the grades I wouldn’t be able to play the game I love. I use my drive and hunger to aim to always do my best both on the field and in the classroom. I plan to major in Theater and minor in Music, because that is where my heart lies and where I am the most passionate. If I am able to find a school where both my softball career and academic career can go hand in hand, I am willing to put in the effort it takes to try my hardest, and accomplish, what I wish for.
