My name is Taylor. I am a Sophomore and the starting catcher for my high school team. I started playing softball when I was six years old. My dad has always been the person that has influenced me the most, for he still does so today. He would always practice baseball with my older brother and I kind of just fell into the position of softball. Ever since I first picked up a ball, I haven’t set it down. This was the start of my life long goals. Not only through softball but with other sports as well, such as basketball and volleyball, I have learned that I am a very competitive person. I’m passionate with everything I do and don’t ever like to lose. But, I know winning isn’t always the outcome. You have to practice and put in the work to get to the top. My goals through high school are to graduate in the top five of my class, accomplish not only a softball scholarship but academic scholarships as well, and continue with school in college after graduating high school to become a Physical Therapist. I’ve always dreamed of playing softball for college. Getting to be that athlete on the field that everybody watches; people you don’t even know become your number one fans. Getting to be that role model for young athletes would fill a place in my heart that would always be a memory. I live in a small town called Bangs, TX. One of the challenges of living in such a small area is having to travel to get to play where I can be recognized. We’ve traveled to so many places that it has not been cheap. I’m very thankful for my mom and dad, otherwise this would have never been possible. I am a very caring person. I’m one of those that people like to be around; I like to make people laugh and have a good time. To me life is more than just waking up and letting the days pass. Life is about doing things that make you happy. Life is about trying and working to be that person that everyone remembers. For me, the game of softball is what makes me happy. One day, it is what people will remember me for.
