When I started playing softball at the age of eight, I never thought that my part-time hobby would grow into a passion for a sport that I've come to love. Softball is not just a field of grass with dirt and chalk, its a game of mental skills and teamwork. I've learned how to communicate with a diverse group of girls; I may not always see eye to eye but work together to achieve a common goal. Mentally as a pitcher, I've learned to take constructive feedback on my performances and develop myself into a better player. The incredible relationships and bonds I've come across while playing are what causes this sport to be long lasting and fun.
Academically I feel I am a great student; I've maintained a 6.357 GPA (7.0 Scale) while balancing my home, school, and softball life. My desire to be very organized and possess excellent time management skills has enabled me to achieve this success. Athletically my competitive nature and leadership skills are what make me a great pitcher. Under times of immense stress, while most people would crack, I'm able to find ways to use this pressure as fuel for my motivation. A few of my favorite pitches are curve ball, drop ball, and off-speed curve. I also throw at a velocity of 60 mph.
In the future, I aspire to find a college that is in state (Texas) and carries my major. I'd like to go to a medium-sized school that will provide a positive and safe learning space, along with keeping excellent communication throughout the year. I am also open to any division or conference. Most importantly, I find it very important as a coach to be motivating and firm but also find ways to make the game fun. Bringing humor into the games or practices when necessary is easing in a way. But staying focused and driven is what leads to prosperity.
