My name is Kara DeBruin. I am a 2019 graduate at John H. Guyer High School in Denton Texas. I am a left handed triple threat. I drag, slap, hit for average, and hit for power. My speed from home to first is 2.7 and home to home 12.0. I was awarded MVP at the USSSA Nationals in July 2015, in Plano, TX.
I currently take Pre-AP Biology, Pre-AP English, and also enrolled in JROTC. I received the ribbon for being in the top 20% nationally in physical fitness for JROTC for females. I assisted with a girl scout clinic where I worked with 10U players on outfield drills, and also assisted with a 15U rec team with outfield drills and side toss. I am interested in Physical Education and one day hope to go into coaching.
I have been recognized by my coaches for my hustle and for being coachable. I am a driven person who thrives on being challenged. I am constantly looking for ways to become a more successful student athlete.
I am looking for a school where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the field. My ideal athletic environment would be where I can make an immediate impact on the team. I believe my best fit would be at a smaller school located in a suburban or rural setting, although I am open to other possibilities.
