Thank you so much for taking the time to review my profile! Behind the plate, you may think I am small, but don't be scared by my small stature because I am strong, fast and agile. I don't just work hard, but I will always compete! I picked up a bat and ball at age 5 and I have never looked back. I can’t imagine doing anything else, and to have the opportunity to play softball while furthering my education, would be a dream come true. Over the years, I have moved multiple times, and softball was the one constant that gave me a true identity. My new team became an instant family even as my "address" changed.
Over the years I have continued to strive for both personal excellence and supporting the women on my team so we can together achieve greatness. I was drawn to catching because lifting up and supporting the team is my greatest strength. I accept the challenge of being a leader both on and off of the field. I have never been accused of being a wallflower; following is not in my DNA.
I have applied this same drive to my academics. I wish to pursue a degree in engineering because of my never-ending desire to understand the intricacies of how science applies to humanity. Engineering and softball seem to also be a good fit. A good softball player draws on existing strengths to prepare for the future challenges. Engineers adapt and change to be more efficient just like a good softball player. Off the field, I continue to take a rigorous schedule in the math and sciences to prepare me for the challenges ahead and am always striving to be better.
