Hi my name is Michelle Gamez and I am a Senior at North Forney High School, Class of 2020. I am a catcher, outfielder, 2nd baseman and until recently 1st baseman. I also play with the Texas Blaze NTX Picazo under Daniel Picazo. I play Catcher, outfield and infield (2nd/3rd); pretty much wherever they need me. I was nominated to USSSA All State Team again this year (2nd year in a row).
I also love to play softball. I have been playing since the age of 13 and have never looked back. I am the starting catcher for my high school team, as well as, my select travel ball team (Texas Blaze 18U). Like my coaches tell me, you’ll know how to play every position when we’re done with you. Although I am highly athletic and love playing softball, my true passion is praising and worshiping the Lord. I would love to pursue not only my business degree, but a minor in worship studies to further enhance the love for singing for him. This past year has been the best year for me. I have been able to build on my confidence while on stage and grow my voice stronger. I have lead worship in various occasions, one of them being our annual worship conference (ReFuel) where I lead worship in front of 600 people. Since then, I sing twice per month and lead both of those times. It feels good to know that I can leave it all on stage and praise the Lord and bring out the best of our church members.
I believe I'm a good candidate for your team because I work hard, I'm coachable and give 110% on and off the field. I can play any position except for pitcher, but If asked to, I can learn it as well. I'm a good student, reliable, and responsible. I'm a team player and committed to my team.
What makes me different from other people is my fun and positive attitude; I'm amicable and independent. I'm focused and don't get distracted with un-necessary drama. I played other sports besides softball, I played volleyball, and played soccer since 4 years old; so I have always had a team player way of thinking. I've always pushed myself hard and welcome feedback.
In school, I focus on my studies and don't get distracted. I'm organized and know my priorities and try to be proactive. I currently have a 4.29 GPA and ranked 62 out of 432 students. I just received the STAAR EOC Algebra Mastery award for Semester 1 and Academic All District during softball season.
My faith is a big important part of my life. I attend, serve and worship at FreeLife Church in Forney, Texas. I am part of the production team and the worship team. I lead worship on Sundays once a month; check out FreeLife Church Facebook live on Sundays at 11 a.m. I love to sing and worship the Lord. Aside from softball, singing is my passion, as well.
Looking forward to what is in store for me in the near future.
Thank you.
