My name is Ayana Acosta and I am a middle infielder class of 2022. I've played softball since I was 6 years old and since then have utilized it as a pillar in my life. My dream of playing at the collegiate level became real to me at an early age of playing this wonderful game. I lost part of my sight in my left eye when I turned 12 and was told by doctors I would not be able to play in the coming years in softball and battled anxiety and seizures through my youth. I am proud to say I've worked extremely hard to find different ways to adapt so that I would be able to continue and pursue my passion to play softball. I'm thankful softball has not only brought growth, strength and friendships to my life but it's also brought hope! To be able to play at the Collegiate level is the next goal I am working hard for! I plan to study Mental Health/Communications and or Journalism to give back to the community and help other young people cope and adapt to life with the challenges they may face. There is so much information that so many our unaware of. I look forward to being a part of a school and team setting where I can continue to grow and be coachable. "The secret to success is loving what you do" and I am excited to to continue to be successful playing softball!
