After missing the 2020 spring sports season, I feel excited and yet slightly nervous about this fall and what my soccer season will look like. I have played both softball and soccer since early elementary school, and missing out of both this past spring made me realize how much I enjoy playing each. Having the opportunity to play both in college would be fantastic.
I am an athlete - I have been since my early days of gymnastics. I thrive on the preparation, the competition, the outcome and especially the team. I also love to travel and had the opportunity to play soccer and softball throughout the Northeastern US, and soccer over in the Netherlands. The many tournaments and championship games and opportunities to share these with other great athletes has been fun, exciting and has also created this need for me to experience more of the same throughout the remaining two years of my high school career, and hopefully in college. I am a great student and I work hard in school, but I am still searching for interests that would result in a specific career. I am hoping that during my junior year more of those interests will develop so I can have a better idea of what to study in college.
My college goals are to have the opportunity to play both soccer and softball, as well as travel and see the world and help others in some way. I am internally driven to work hard and perform well and prefer to surround myself with others who have the same vision. I am competitive and love to win, but would prefer good coaching and good team comaraderie even more. Coaches (as well as teachers) and teammates who encourage me and help me to be the best I can be are more important than winning in my mind.
