Getting a good college education has always been very important to me, but I would like to play ball while doing that. I am very hardworking on the field as well as in the classroom. Leadership is, and always has been, one of my strongest qualities. I have been elected captain by my teammates and have been a team leader since I started playing travel softball. My leadership abilities were displayed while on a summer mission trip to Mexico. I was chosen to be the leader of my work crew. When needed, I have stepped up and offered to play many different positions, even though shortstop has always been my primary. Coaches have always looked to me to be the one to step up and help the team, even when it was something out of my comfort zone. My coaches have also said that my athleticism and coachability have allowed me to be flexible and succeed wherever needed. Being able to hit from both sides of the plate and slap has made me more versatile and added dimensions to my team. Having these tools has also made me a smarter player because I know how each skill can be used effectively during a game.
