Alexandrea (Allie) Bell '23 Recruiting Profile

When I was 10, I played Little League and the coach for my team was my dad. Our team didn't have a catcher, so of course he handed the job to me. I couldn't be more thankful that he did. From that day forward,  I worked hard to do my very best and eventually everything started to become more natural, and I was starting to gain confidence in my ability. That experience most definitely helped me discover my love for the game, and helped develop me into who I am today. 

I played on a couple of travel teams when I was very young, but when I turned 12, I decided to try out for a travel team based out of Millsboro, DE which is about an hour and a half from our small island, Chincoteague.  I was very excited when I received a call asking me to join the team. At first I was nervous, but I stepped out of my comfort zone and joined a team where I did not know any of the girls or coaches.  Today, I am still playing ball with the same coach and the same girls and I have found it so rewarding in that our team has always stressed accountability,  discipline, teamwork, integrity and leadership while producing a very competitive environment. Five years later, I am still traveling an hour and a half each way to practice twice a week with Delmarva Freedom.  It has been such a rewarding experience to be part of this team.

Over the years, I have learned the value of teamwork and leadership and I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me both academically and athletically. I believe I have the talent and leadership skills to be a leader in the classroom and on the field, but I am also very coachable.
