Reese Byrd '21 Recruiting Profile

Hey Coach, 

    My name is Reese Byrd, I am a pitcher from Suffolk, Virginia. I am 5'8 and weigh 140 pounds. I attend the college preparatory school Nansemond  Suffolk Academy as a 2021 graduate. I have been playing softball since I was 5 years old.  I am a RHP, and I also play outfield and first base.  I am the starting pitcher for my high school team, and we won the 2019 VISSA State Championship this year.  I ended the season, conference tournemant and state tournemant with a 0.94 ERA.

    Academically, I maintain honor roll while taking multiple advanced and honors level classes, and I have a GPA of 3.8. I also participate in a Breast Cancer Awareness Volunteer Club, SPCA, and Rock Solid volunteer service organizations. I have been honored with a citizenship award within my class. I hope to be in the sports medicine field after college, and therefore I hope to focus on biology or kinesiology.

    I also enjoy playing volleyball and basketball for my school teams. I was chosen as best all around player award for volleyball by my teammates. I enjoy playing all three sports and feel like I am always learning from my different coaches and teammates. I also think that I am very coachable because I want to keep getting better at the game that I love. I plan to keep working hard and continue to improve my skills in softball.
