Hello coaches! My name is Rylee Turner, and I am a student athlete attending Tidewater Academy in Wakefield, VA - class of 2029.
I began playing softball at 10 years old in fall 2022 with the Sedley Recreation Association 10u team, and it’s become a true passion of mine. I have improved tremendously since my first season, thanks to great coaches who taught me the fundamentals and pushed me to always do my best.
I joined the DTM Crushers travel team in Fall 24', we played in multiple TOP GUN and Softball Nation sanctioned tournaments. Where I started every tournament as catcher, 1st or 3rd base. I was exposed to a greater competition level than what I’ve been used to, which allowed me to grow as a player. I’m especially proud that during our final tournament on November 17, 2024, where we played a total of 5 games in one day, DTM Crushers 12u was the Turkey Bowl 24 Runner Up!
I’ve learned it’s important to be a great teammate encouraging and uplifting rather than criticize. I can be competitive, but I must also display great sportsmanship.
I am eager for the spring 2025 season to start as I plan to continue playing for Sedley 13u while also joining Tidewater Academy’s Varsity softball team. I strive to continue growing and exceling as a player and welcome advice and feedback from coaches that will help me do just that.
