My name is Gracie Jo Olson and I’m a 5’4” AND A HALF softball player. Since I was little I have been dedicated to this sport, doing all I can to get better. My most important accomplishment happens to be first year letter and varsity player of my high school season, and then again in my second year. But also personal accomplishments, I have been attending PTSD therapy in 2019 for past incidents!
Knowing that I have the opportunity and people in my life to help me play college ball makes me even more motivated for this sport. I was the only freshman on varsity and having all upper class men as my teammates pushed me to be a leader on the team. With my second year, I am still the youngest on the team but have really pushed myself to lead and motivate my teammates. As of 2019, my year has been rough… but from the bottom of my heart softball is what got me through. It helped motivate me to get back to who I once was and to hold on to the moment, and to help process emotions that I was incapable of handling alone. Having that opportunity took the game from being part of my life to being my life.
When it comes to choosing a school I would like to go to, I am very open to anything as long as the climate fits me. It does not matter about the location or size; if I can play softball for something bigger than me and get the education I want, I will more than happy! My top choices as majors as of right now are Social Science and Food Science. However, my major choices may change over my course of my high school year.
Realistically my goal is to continue playing softball at a high competitive level. As well as to make a positive impact on the team and inspire little girls like I once was. I desire to be apart of a team and work with others to be the greatest we can be. I am more than excited to even think about college!
