I'm Hailey Jones, a 5'2 2nd basemen and outfielder who has an unbelievable passion for the game. Growing up I tried a lot of sports that never really stuck including: soccer, swimming, gymnastics, and cheer. I always found that I didn't love the sport like I needed to, until I found Fastpitch Softball. My best friend introduced it to me in 6th grade and I instantly fell in love and have been playing ever since. Even though I started late compared to others my love for the game grew quick and was nothing I have felt before. Throughout my softball journey I have had it rough from coaches telling me I'm not good enough to not being on a team for more then a year because of drama and teams falling apart. I have not let that define who I am and if anything it pushed me to be my best and work harder to prove them wrong. I love softball because its fun, the girls always end up being like family and its my happy place. I want to go to collage and go as far as I can with softball because its my passion. My strengths are leadership, cheering on my teammates when they had a rough inning, and not letting an error define my mental game. I take every pitch and play like a new one and I give 100% effort into everything I do from practice to in game situations. I believe you win the game in practice and just prove it on the field because if you don't put the work in practice then theirs no change in a real game. Coaches often tell me that I'm a great player that takes all advice to heart. I love to be challenged on a highly competitive team because I feel that it pushes me to do my absolute best. I am very serious when it comes to school. I take all of my school work and assignments seriously. I have great grades and I hope to go into the medical field. I go to Kentwood Highschool in Covington Washington and I'm a 2023 graduate. I am looking for a program that will challenge me and push me to do my best. I will give 110 % effort wherever I end up. My mentor Ashley Carter - a life coach and staff member of the University of Washington - has taught me to be confident and know my self worth. She has made me a brand statement that says, " Loyal and caring student-athlete whose strengths of being situationally aware and planning ahead on the field, and her need for clear systems makes her a strong competitor and teammate for any program. "
