I started playing baseball when I was five, and then I switched over to fastpitch when I was eight, and it's become the highlight of my life. Ever since playing for Northwest Speed for eight years, and recently joining with the Elite Diamonds, my goal has been to play college fastpitch at the highest level I can play. Playing fastpitch has taught me and continues to teach so many lessons and given me many opportunities, that continue to help me as a student-athlete. When I had an injury, I learned that hard work and mental toughness is what it took to overcome my injury when I was struggling, and those are the characteristics that I use when I step on the field to play fastpitch. I understand that academics are the most important part of college, but I feel that playing fastpitch teaches me teamwork and also teaches me not only to give my best on the field but teaches me to give my best in school, and anything that I do in my life. In school, I always choose difficult classes that challenge me to push myself and not give up even when it gets hard. I just want to be able to play the sport I love, with a group of girls that have the same drive as me.
