My dream is to one day play college softball! I am working hard to earn not only academic scholarships but also athletic scholarships. As a freshman I was the starting catcher for our Antigo Varsity Girls Fastpitch Softball Team and received my first Varsity Letter. As a sophomore my coach asked if I would play some Center Field against some of the tougher teams in our league due to my versatility, which I did as well. I received a Unanimous First Team All Conference Award Designation. As a junior I started out catching and i ended up switching to center field half way through the year because of my versatility. I spend a lot of time practicing on and off the field and am grateful that my parents help and support me by spending their time helping me work on my game after work, on weekends and during the off season. The one thing that my dad taught me when I was young, was to learn and play all positions on the field so when I got to high school and the Varsity Coach needed a player for a particular position, I could confidentially say, "yes, I'm your person, I know what to do and I can play that position." I have found this to be very beneficial for me as I'm always on the field playing ball.
This summer I had the opportunity to play with a new traveling team out of Mayville. They asked me to play on their 18U team as a 3rd baseman. I am looking forward to playing with new people and becoming a better softball player this summer.
My strengths as a Softball Player are taking good pitches when at bat, keeping the ball in front of me, framing the ball, calling the pitches, and making plays when throwing down to second that result in outs when I'm catching, as well as the strength of my arm, my versatility and knowing where the ball needs to go when I'm in centerfield.
I believe that what makes me different from others is my desire to excel academically as well as athletically. I take great pride in my academic ability, currently #10 of 199 students in my class. I have been on Honor Roll from 2010-2016 and have placed in all Accelerated Core Classes Available from 2011-2016. In 2012/2013 I received the WKCE Scholar Academic Excellence in Math, Reading and English. I also received the 2013 President's Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence.
I am a two sport athlete and have attended several camps and showcases over the past 4 years, including a camp at UMD, the Tonka Showcase in MN which I will attend this fall and a showcase in Middleton WI this August. I thoroughly enjoy softball and basketball. I spend a lot of time playing these two sports throughout the year, they are my passion. I also enjoy snowmobiling, hunting, skiing, camping and working. I have been working at Swiderski Equipment Inc. since age 13 and have enjoyed the opportunities this job has brought me. I answer phones, file, balance various statements, enter invoices and sales tickets in the computer, take photos of inventory and attach to our website for potential buyers and more.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile notes.
