Hi there! My name is Maddie Schwab and I am a sophomore (Class of ‘25) from Hudson WI. I go to Hudson High School and maintain a 4.0 GPA while also being class president and I am involved in many other extracurriculars. Aside from softball I am a competitive figure skater, I have been skating for over 12 years which has led me to be a bronze medalist in Moves in the Field, compete in Freestyle 7, and in Intermediate Freeskate. I am a utility and currently play outfield for the Minnesota Waves, and in my freshman year at Hudson I started in the outfield as well on varsity.
I started playing softball when I was 6 years old and I remember being so excited every time we would get to the field because I wanted to get better and win (even though I was only in t-ball and I don’t think we kept score). My dad has been my biggest supporter in my softball career and always will be. He knows what my goals are for my softball career so he will always push me towards those goals and I am so appreciative that I have him. Speaking of goals, I want to play softball in college while keeping my education as my primary focus. In college I want to go into business, I have always wanted to be an entrepreneur and have my own business. The idea of the business has changed over the years, but as I have fallen more in love with softball and athletics, I want to own a gym and yoga studio to help others become the best version of themselves.
This is the part of the personal statement I was scared to write about because I don’t like bragging about myself but here goes. I am a very kind and selfless person, at school I am a part of a club where our peers can come to us and talk to us about any problems they are dealing with and we can help by giving advice or just being there for them. I love when people talk to me about anything and everything, I am a big listener who will ask a lot of questions. I ask many questions at school and softball, I am not afraid to raise my hand and be the person to ask the dumb question. Being a two-sport athlete, who is involved a lot in school, has forced me to become more organized than I already was and become better at time management.
Thank you for taking the time to read and learn more about me!
