Alexis Sciortino '18 Recruiting Profile

Playing college softball has always been a dream of mine. Softball is my passion in life, and I know this because when softball season ends, all I want to do is play more softball! As a student- athlete, I think what separates me is my effort.  Giving 100% is very important to me whether it’s school or softball. I also value being a leader on and off the field.  My softball career started in kindergarten, when I played tee-ball. Then it continued when I played three more years of Little League. It took me awhile to realize this, but once I started playing select softball, I knew I wanted to play in college. I have played 7 seasons with the Falls Angels, currently with the U18 team.  The turning point in my softball career was when I became a slapper . I just completed my third season as a slapper and possess the following tools:  slap bunt, soft slap, and power slap.  I am continuing working on hitting straight-away left handed.   Hitting this way is what separates me from the rest. I really like how it puts a lot of pressure on the defense. As for fielding, I have always loved 2nd base and played quite a bit of outfield during my high school season.  I am always willing to try other infield positions if it means I can get in the game.  As an athlete, you will be recruiting someone of high character, high effort, and a positive attitude.   In conclusion, I am looking for a college that will be a good fit for me, and where I can continue my softball career!
