Madalynn Hamersmeier '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Madalynn.  I’ve been playing softball since elementary school and have developed a deep love and exceptional skill set (offensively and defensively) for the game.  At the club level, my skill has allowed me to earn spots on teams above my age group.  In addition, during my freshman year (2021) at Oconomowoc High School, I made the JV team as starting 3rd basemen and then was moved to Varsity during the season due to my performance.  My sophomore year (2022), I earned a starting position on Varsity as shortstop.   I had a great Varsity high school season.  In my conference, I earned All Conference 2nd team infielder.  I also batted over a .300 this high school season.  In addition, I won the Coach's award on my team.  This past summer season (2022) I played for the Oconomowoc 5'Os as starting 3rd basemen. For the fall 2022 and summer 2023, I’m playing for the Outlawz.  My natural skill set, ability to play multiple positions on the field, being a coachable athlete and having the determination & motivation to succeed has contributed to my success thus far.  In past club seasons, my team has won championships and have lost in championship games.  These hard played games have given me opportunities to understand the importance of teamwork and being a positive team player leading by example on and off the field.  My goal is to one day play at the college level for a program that not only puts emphasis on what it takes to succeed (on and off the field) but also one that places priority on team as well.  Additionally, I'm interested in attending a school that will help me grow academically in Law and/or Pharmacy.  Looking further ahead, I hope to one day have the opportunity to be a softball coach as well.
