Grace Syson '20 Recruiting Profile

Hi I’m Grace. I’ve been playing softball since I was in 5th grade. To me, softball isn’t just a fun sport to play with your friends, it’s a safe haven for me. When I’m at softball, I feel 100% confident in myself. My mom always refers to softball as my drug. Going to a small school, we only have a varsity team that consists of 13 girls. Four of them haven’t played before and our only pitcher is a freshman. Most people think this is a major set back, but our season has been going way better than predicted. While practicing so much, I still make time for my education. I put in just as much effort into school as I do in softball.  My main goal when going into college is keeping that balance of softball and school. I have a natural leadership attitude and I take the bull by the horns. I’m always willing to try new things that I may have never seen myself doing before.
