Sports, especially basketball have always been a passion of mines since I started playing at the age of six. I believe the game itself has helped me develop as a better person and student. With that being said, I think college basketball can further assist me with learning my role as a team player, and the importance of being a student athlete. Another factor that contribute to my goals and aspiration is my family. My older brother ArDarius Stewart played college football for the University of Alabama and that really inspired me. I use to watch him compete day in and day out. He was a stand out player in high school and is considered one of the best that broke records at Fultondale. My family helped shape my dreams to continue playing basketball after high school. This year, I'm the captain of the girls varsity basketball team. This role is important to me because it teaches me leadership skills and allows me to play a major role in determining the outcome of a game.
I believe what makes me a great candidate is my willingness and drive to compete. I am the type of person who wants to succeed. I do well in high stress situations. The fact is, the more pressure put on me the better I perform. I don't give in or give up.
I'm very focus and serious about being a student athlete. My grades are very important to me as I currently have a 3.0 GPA. I feel the right college can help further assist me in my development as a student athlete.
