The reason why I believe I deserve to receive a scholarship is because; it will help me to further my education with my future endeavor of becoming an occupational therapist by earning my associates in physical therapy at ESCC. I also love the game of basketball and want to enhance my skills on the college level. I also want to learn how the other players communicate with the ball.
One of my biggest assets that I will bring to ESCC ladies basketball team is my strong belief in team work and my ability to shoot 3 pointers. I had the opportunity to watch one of the Lady Boll Weevil games, and I believe I will fit in nicely with the program Coach Williams has in place.
I found and interest int the game of basketball in the seventh grade and continued to play on into senior high school. I did not play with the varsity team until my junior year due to a busy schedule as member of the JROTC program.
As a member of the varsity team during my junior year, I was selected as one of the 2018-2019 All Star Basketball Team in the local Wiregrass area, selected to the AHSAA Area Basketball All-Tournament during the sub regionals, and recognized by AHSAA as being a clutch performer during a tight game with Rehobeth High School by scoring five 3 pointers with the last 2 resulting in a win for the team.
I was able to reach one of my goals during my senior year by scoring 30 points in a game. My avg for the my senior year was 12.8 and a total of 269 points for the year. I wanted our team to go to the championship, but it wasn't meant to be.
