Kamya Kates '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi, 

I'm kamya kates.I currently attend russell county high school. I'm in the 12th grade graduating class of 24. Basketball has been my life since i was five years old. picking up a basketball for the first time was very special to me because that was the first time i felt like i can express my self in a way that i knew people understand. when i'm on the court i give my all in every game, in every practice, because i know i can get better and transgress each and every day. one thing my coach has always tellis  "practice how you play" and that sticks with me every day. i bring nothing but positive energy and uplifting words to encourage my team to get better no matter how many times they make a mistake or fail. when people hear the phrase "student athlete", they think only one thing that the only thing we care about is playing sports and being an athlete come first but,  me i believe in being a students first because i know i can perform well off as well as on the court.
