Marlene Moreno '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Marlene Moreno, I am currently enrolled at St. Mary's Catholic High School located in downtown Phoenix, AZ. I am an unsigned senior (class of 2021), and I would love to continue my basketball career. My ideal college would be somewhere located in Arizona or within a 6 hour drive - Southern California. 

My collegiate goals and aspirations are to graduate and attend college. I would be the first in my family to attend college and I would love to lessen my family's burden by receiving an athletic scholarship. I would love to become a physical therapist for athletes or something in the athletic training realm.

As a basketball player, I have great vision, anticipation, and good work ethic. I run the lanes well, I communicate, and I pride myself on defense - especially getting in the passing lanes to anticipate steals.

I would describe my character and personality as very determined and focused. Athletically, I will never quit, I have a great shot, I can dribble with both hands, I do not favor one hand over the other. I can work on my change of speed, the speed of my shot, and endurance. As far as my academics go - I will be totally honest - I slacked off my sophomore year. I didn't play basketball that year either. I was just not determined, I didn't have a reason to care. My junior year, a new coach came in (current coach) and she totally changed my view on the game. I now know why I play the game.
