Donna Jackson '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello, 

My name is Donna Jackson. My collegiate goals are to maintain a high academic standing and ultimately graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Biology ( Pre-Health Professional Concentration) in preparation for a D.D.S./D.M.D. in Orthodontics. During my collegiate career, my fondest hope is to become a contributing starting member of my school's basketball team.  

I come from a small school in a small town with an even smaller secondary/high school enrollment, but small does not necessarily mean irrelevant. I am the proud Captain of the Veritas Conquerors girls' basketball team and I have been since my Freshman year. Our team has won the League Championship every year since my freshman year, consecutively for three years now. But that is not the only reason I am proud to call myself Captain, I am proud because of the hard work that our entire team puts in every single practice and game of every single season. We are a phenomenal team. My stats speak a little to how I play, but those numbers are nothing compared to the presence I command on the court. I am a natural-born leader who is not afraid of getting after my team when they need it. I am also fair, kind, and consider integrity to be my highest standard. 

Coaches, whatever you are looking for in an athlete, I am confident in expressing to you that I will meet and exceed your expectations. I love this game inside and out!  Even when I am not playing it, I am thinking about it, running plays in my head and constructing strategies for the future. I have the highest respect for my coaches and teammates, as well as the opposing teams that I have the great privilege and opportunity to play with. I am a quick and persistent learner. Whatever I may lack in stats, I will make up for with heart! I am open to correction and suggestions, and will gladly accept your guidance. Anything you are willing to teach me about the game I love so very much, I will take and incorporate into my routine to make my play better, faster, stronger, and more effective.
