Hi, my name is Deb Altshuler. I play for Hardwood Elite on the U17 3SSB team under Derek Griffin. I am in the class of 2022 and am attending AZ Compass Prep in Phoenix, AZ. I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA and I enjoy STEM related classes. Recently, I have become very interested in sports medicine. I participate in basketball, tennis and National Honor Society. I volunteer at my church and at a senior assisted living center. I enjoy helping others, especially those in need.
I love playing basketball for various reasons. I have an affinity for all the different elements of basketball. I like working hard to improve my dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork, defense, and so much more. I enjoy the feeling of accomplishment after an extremely challenging workout or practice. Another aspect of basketball that I love is teamwork. I like that my teammates push me to get better and provide a competitive edge. But above all, I love the enthusiasm that my teammates provide and that they feel like family.
I know that in order to achieve excellence in class and on the court, I must be committed, determined, possess a positive attitude, and have a strong work ethic. All of these elements will be critical to help me achieve my goals.
