My name is Bethany Dillard. I am an upcoming Junior at Central Arkansas Christian with a 4.0 GPA. I have started on our varsity basketball team as well as our varsity soccer team since my freshman year. After I graduate from high school, it is my goal to attend a college that will help me pursue a degree in the field of sports medicine. It has also been my dream to play basketball at the collegiate level.
I am the youngest of three, one sister and one brother who are twenty-one years old. Both siblings were involved in multiple sports. I always thought I was old enough to play like them so my parents enrolled me into soccer when I was three years old. I then played t-ball and basketball in kindergarten and fell in love with the sport of basketball. I was able to play for my school, CAC, starting in 3rd grade. Over the next three years I developed a passion for working with a team. In 7th grade, my coach Steve Quattlebaum asked me to help out at some of our team camps. I jumped at the opportunity and when conference came around I was able to play up on the Jr. High team. We won conference that year and the next year. Starting my 9th grade year, I had the special opportunity to start on the varsity team alongside, Christyn Williams, the number one recruit in the U.S. That year we took our team to state and won! Once our basketball season was over I was asked to start on our varsity soccer team. Excited to compete and contribute to the team, I agreed to play. Bringing my leadership skills from basketball, I was able to help my team win the state championship as well as earn MVP honors. Sophomore year, I was the only returning starter and it was a re-building year for our team. We made it to state but lost earlier than we had hoped. However, after our season ended I was voted onto the All-State Tournament Team, All-State, All-Conference and was a Full Court Award Finalist.
When school ball is on break, I continue working on and developing my skills. I am honored to be working with Deshone McClure, a former collegiate basketball player. I am also blessed to be a part of Mavericks Elite Gauntlet basketball team that thrives on the highest levels of competition.
