My name is Shawnee Latimer. I am in the 2022 graduating class. I attend Piggott High School in Piggott, Arkansas. I have been in a basketball program since the 4th grade. From 4th to 6th grade, I played on the in-town peewee league as well as on the travel team. After 6th grade I continued to play on the high school team for my 7th and 8th grade years. I unfortunately took a break my freshman year to focus on my academics, but soon realized that I had such a strong passion for basketball and joined back my sophomore year. I am a 5'6" forward. I work the most on rebounding for my team. I take pride in everything I do, whether it be academics, basketball, extracurricular activities, or anything outside of school. I am currently an A Honor Roll student for this semester. I take my academics very seriously. I was the top student in my class all the way from Kindergarten to the 6th grade, and have kept my grades up ever since. I will hopefully start taking college courses starting next year and work on getting college credits. I play on the Varsity team at my high school. I am usually a starter for the team, but if I don't start I'm one of the first off the bench. I also played on an AAU basketball team over the summer of 2019 that had a very successful season. As a team, we qualified for the Reebok Nationals Tournament in Kansas City, MO. Extracurricular wise, I am in Beta, FFA, and PACE(Gifted and Talented). In the future, I want to attend a college that I know will help me be the best version of myself both athletically and academically. I love playing basketball more than anything. It is truly my passion, and I am excited to grow as an athlete.
