I want to continue playing basketball because it is my love and passion. Ever since I was little, day one, I knew I wanted to play basketball, I just fell in love with everything about it. Playing, watching, talking, and breathing basketball is everything I do. Playing collegiate basketball has always been a dream of mine and until I got to high school, I didn’t truly believe that I could do it but as I started my junior year season, I become 100% confident that I could do it and will continue to prove to myself and everyone else watching that I belong at the collegiate level. With all the love and support of my family, coaches, and friends, I continue to build my confidence every day to reach my goal of playing at the D1 level. I want to further my education as a student athlete because basketball is my motivator and I want to be able to use it as my ticket to college.
On the court, I am a competitor to the max. Winning and being the best scorer, rebounder, and teammate are my goals and I do not let up until I achieve these goals. My coach has described me as having “killer iinstistics or a killer mentality” because I get the job done no matter what, I always find a way because my willingness to win and be the best is relentless. Off the court, I am shy and can be quiet until I feel comfortable around someone and once I feel comfortable I love to crack jokes, have fun, and hang out with my friends and family. I am very loyal to my family and close circle and would do anything for them.
I will benefit the team on and off the court by bringing a strong scoring presence on offense, rebounding and steals defensively, and leadership, communication, and positivity both on and off the court. Offensively, I can stretch the floor with my 3 point shooting and when I get run off the line, I drive the ball to the rim, stop short for floaters, and pull-up jumpers. I finish really well around the rim and have great touch on floaters and jumpers. Defensively, I love to rebound and off the ball, I anticipate passes for steals very well. I have always been a leader on the court, off the court, and even in the classroom so I know my teammates or classmates look to me for setting the example and taking over when needed. I always communicate to my coach and teammates to make sure we have high energy and talk, especially on the defensive end. I have fun playing the game and always bring a positive coachable attitude to my team.
My goal is to play basketball at the collegiate level at the highest level possible, hopefully earning a full ride scholarship to a D1 level university. I also want to be the best student-athlete and will always do my best and work hard to achieve success in the classroom and on the court.
