My name is Natalie,
I am a 21 year old senior at Sonoma State University in Northern California.
After graduating High School I played at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga for 2 years. My hard work, commitment, and leadership earned me to be voted team captain. I received the All Tournament Award in one of our pre-season tournaments. My second year at Chaffey was also our first season in the most competitive league in California. Playing in that league has definitely taught me to always work hard and never give up.
At my high school I was a 2-year-starter on the varsity team and team captain. We finished off coming in 2nd place in the Baseline League. As Team Captain I led my team into the semi finals in CIF, Division 1A. This was the first time in my school's history for the girls' program to ever go that far. I was elected to play on the Inland Empire Senior All Star Team and received the Baseline League Outstanding Scholar Award.
My coaches speak highly of me. I am a very hard worker, on and off the court, a great team player and team leader. I am a quick learner, understand the game of basketball and implement the new skills I have been taught. My strongest asset is my defense, help defense, and communication on the court.
In February of 2018, before our last season game, I was in a bad car accident. I was still able to graduate, however, my basketball career was put on hold.
It took a full year to recover, more mental damage than physical. I have been working hard, physically and mentally, and I cannot get basketball out of my head. I feel I am not ready to be done yet. I would love the opportunity to get out there again and show my competitive spirit. I am not afraid of body contact and I also have a really nice mid-range jump shot.
My other hobbies are reading and poetry. My major is English, with emphasis on Creative Writing.
My goal is to finish college, get my degree, while doing what I love to do: Play basketball.
