I truly could not say that I grew up or was raised to play basketball. In all honesty, basketball chose me. At one ordinary recess in the fourth grade, our elementary school's girls basketball coach handed me a paper and strongly suggested that I ask my parents to allow me to attend tryouts for the team the upcoming week. After being open to a new experience, it was all only an uphill journey from there. I quickly acquired the basic skills to be successful in a game and within the next couple of years, I was one of the biggest contributors to winning back to back championships. At this point, I was in love with the game and there's no stopping me from doing what I love.
