My goal in college is to learn how to become successful in a career associated with Sports Medicine or a related field. By playing a sport in college, I will gain valuable experience as an athlete that will support my career goals in the future. Having just finished my third year of high school basketball in one of the top-rated Division 1 schools in California, I have learned how to push myself to constantly improve my personal and team oriented skills. I worked hard to earn significant playing time as a starter and to contribute in all statistical aspects of each and every game. I believe that I stand out from the typical varsity basketball player because I focus on defense as much as offense. I am decidedly team oriented, and take as much satisfaction from earning an assist or gathering a tough defensive rebound as from being called upon to make an important basket.
I work hard in the classroom, and take courses that will challenge me academically so that I continue to learn and stay motivated. Even though our high school season ended in the Northern California Semi-finals (two games before the goal of a state championship,) I have already started working every day to prepare for the upcoming spring, summer, and fall basketball sessions for my AAU and High School teams. I am committed to doing anything it takes for my team and I to reach and achieve a California State Championship during my senior high school season.
