Shantel Roberts '14 Recruiting Profile

My current dreams, goals and aspirations are as follows:

I plan to graduate from high school with honors and be in the top ten of my graduating class.

I love and admire the game of basketball and I am very excited and eager to play on a college level. I work very hard on my game daily.  I work with my private coach twice a week and independently 5 days a week.  I enjoy playing very aggressive defense and creating offensive opportunities for my teammates using my ball handling skills. I enjoy running the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right players at the right time.  As a point guard, I understand that it’s what’s best for the team…"WE over ME."

I have learned from my high school experiences that it is very important to follow my dreams no matter how many obstacles or challenges I may face.  I've learned that commitment, dedication, and standing in the mist of adversities is the key to achieving my dreams.  In other words, I've learned to never ever give up on my dreams, goals and aspirations.

I understand the importance of being a student/athlete. I would like to attend college and become a nurse practitioner.  After college, I would like to work with the elderly population in the health care industry.  In addition to this, I would love to go back to my community and start a travel ball team for underprivileged youth.  I would also like to send my parents on an all expense paid trip around the world due to their unconditional love and support towards me my entire life.

Whatever college that accepts me for higher education and an opportunity to play basketball WILL NOT be disappointed.  I plan to do outstanding work in both areas.  I WILL SUCCEED!
