Cate Zamora '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Caterina Angelina Zamora.  My friends and family just call me Cate.  I'm the oldest sister of three children, born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area.  I come from a well traveled loving family and live a life in constant motion both in school and in sports.  As I start my high school career in 2018, my ability to be adaptable on the court is my best trait.  My strong belief in team work and following through comes in second.  In my 13 years of life I have tried many sports and have really fallen in love with basketball.  From the moment I stepped on the court, it really felt natural for me.  What differentiates me from other recruits are many things, but three things come to mind.

1.    I am a student of the game:  I recognize that I'm not the biggest or the fastest but I play the smartest and it comes from preparation

2.    I am a selfless player:  My mom and dad taught me that sometimes, your team mate is in a better position.  I have taken this to heart and I feel just as excited for an assist, a block, a pick, a smart screen to enable my team to win...  and in the process I get to win too.

3.    I want to be coached to get better:  I play aggressive and my emotions get the better of me at times, I feel my heart is in the right place and I just want to get better.  Get better as a person, a player and team-mate. 

My goals are to finish strong in my high school career.  Play and compete at a collegiate national level and in my wildest dreams make the Olympic team.
