The years I've been at Palmdale Highschool have been developing. Being at a school with the best record it holds is five wins improve your character on and off the court. For me, it made me learn the meaning of the word "effort." I know how to handle a loss, and I know how to celebrate a win. It taught me how to value my teammates. I make sacrifices for my team, even played through injuries for my team. I remember being in the hospital all night the night before a game, waking up early just to go to school and then play for my team. Effort is not only looking at what you can do for yourself but what can you do as a player to not only make your teammates shine but do all you can to help the overall team; What can you do to get that win, what can you do to make the coach's job easier?
A lot of student-athletes went to schools that already had that once in a lifetime experience, going state or winning league. I have never experienced it, but I need to. That gives me a drive that cannot be stopped. I believe that my talent, character, and drive will not only impress you but impress everyone around you. I have a hunger for this game that will not be stopped no matter what because at the end of the day it'll make me train harder. I would love to be apart of a program that not only likes effort on the court but off the court as well.
