Growing up, I was surrounded by basketball. I was either watching it or shooting around in the backyard with my family, I wasn't pushed into organized basketball. I played tennis and took piano lessons, but I found my way back to basketball. I began playing in 6th grade where I joined a co-ed youth league and fell in love with the sport. In 7th grade, I joined the CalStars AAU team. This transition from recreational to competitive play would change my life. From then on, I decided to fully commit to be being the best basketball player and teammate I can be.
I made my high school’s varsity team as a freshman, where I now still play in my sophomore year while maintaining a 4.2 GPA. My goal is to maintain a 4.0 or higher while playing basketball in college. I've learned many lessons from basketball that impacted my character both on and off the court, including teamwork, sacrifice, leadership, and communication. I feel I'd bring value to any program by first understanding its vision and culture, then doing whatever it takes to embody it every day.
