My goal in college is to not only play basketball and become the best player I can be but academically to be set up and prepared to face the real world. Meaning be able to be prepared to go into a job interview, have connections with people, and feel as I have had the best preparation and the best schooling for my major. As of being able to play in college it would remind me that all the hard work and dedication that I have put in throughout my time playing this sport will pay off. Playing in sport in college teaches you life skills that will travel with you the rest of your life. Some of the things that I have been able to take with is to work hard in that you do because that hard work mentally will reflect back onto you, never give up even when things seem hard or feel impossible, and also be open to what other people say whether that is a compliment or a suggestion.
What makes me different from other recruit's character wise is that I love to learn, I am not afraid of being corrected. I love to see people succeed and help communicate both on and off the court. I love to have fun but I know when to be serious and get the job done. My freshman year of high school I found out that I have a learning disability, a form of dyslexia. Having to deal with a learning disability makes school so much harder than it is but I am proud to say that I have been able to average 3.2- 3.3gpa's even while being in season. Having dyslexia just makes school and learning really hard for me but I wouldn't trade it. I believe that dyslexia has taught me to work even harder and to study and sacrifice hangout with friends. I have been so blessed to have amazing coaching my high school years but what would differ me from other recruits is that I will never give up I will work my butt of and do anything to reach our goal as a team. As a freshman I was on varsity and able to play under head coach Mike Ruble. I have learned so many things from him, both basketball wise and life lessons. Ruble would always say "embrace the pain to experience the joy" meaning being a college level athlete is never easy and us as a team are going to have frustrating times and you can't just give up because it gets hard you have to push deeper and work harder.
