My name is Katrina M. Villarreal, and I love playing basketball. I have played multiple sports ( basketball, soccer, softball, cheer) ever since I could remember; but basketball became my main focus when I was 12 when I began playing AAU year round. I recognized early that I had to work twice as hard as everyone else because most of the girls I was competing against had started earlier. So, I developed a regular routine of conditioning, weight lifting - and practice on my own, almost every every night, for a couple of hours.
I have put so much effort and dedication into playing basketball. I have given up my social life. Everyday since freshman year I spend at least one hour of shooting and dribbling and two hours on working out. Basketball is a big part of my life and I would love to play it in college. I cant image myself without basketball, and it has made me mentally and physically a stronger person. Thanks to my parents I have never given up or quite on anything in my life. I see it though until the end. My dream is to play college and to get mvp in my league. My goal since freshman year was to be the best three point shooter in the league and have the highest percentage in the league for three pointers.
