Hi, my name is Ashley Ng, and I attend South San Francisco High School. I am part of the graduating class of 2021. I am currently playing for the Varsity team at South San Francisco High School. I love playing basketball and am very passionate about it. I have been playing basketball since the second grade (Bay Area Asian Sports Dragons). Initially, basketball started as a recreational activity, but turned into something much more. I became more competitive and aspired to be the best player that I could possibly become. When I was in the fifth grade, I joined the AAU team Bay Area Elite. In the sixth grade, I joined the AAU team NP Force/Prime. I feel blessed and privileged to have received years of training, mentoring and support from all of my coaches. They have made me into the player I am today. My parents have always supported me by driving me to practice and attending all of my games. I know that it is hard on them making so many sacrifices for me. I do not take anything for granted and that helps me to stay committed to my training. I have always wanted play high school basketball and have aspirations of playing college basketball some day.
Optional Quote:
“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take” is a quote that I try to live by. To me it means that you should not be afraid to try. Sometimes you will be successful and sometimes you will fail. You will never know unless you try. I really like this quote, because to me it is something that I apply to my basketball game as well as my life off of the court. This quote motivates me to work hard at everything that I do and to never give up.
