Zoey Petrie '22 Recruiting Profile

I am a multi-sport athlete who thrives in competitive situations and believes in cross training to help me develop athletically and physically. I truly love participating in multiple sports; but basketball is my absolute passion. 

This passion extends to the court in my role as team captain, I am a motivator and I lead by example. I am an extremely hard worker and if you talk to my coaches they will tell you that I am very coachable and I am willing to accept hard feedback in service of getting better individually and for my team. 

I currently hold a 4.1 grade point average and I am active in many academic programs, Future Farmers of America, Mock Trial, and I am currently my school’s newly elected Associated Student Body President. I am bilingual and am very passionate about academics and public service. 

I am lifting weights with strength and conditioning coaches with collegiate experience and my Mom was a collegiate basketball player at UC Davis in the early 90s. I know what it takes to compete at high levels and thrive in highly competitive team environments.

On the basketball court, I am a defensive specialist and thrive in getting key defensive stops and creating havoc on the ball that leads to turnovers or stops. My offensive game continues to grow as I develop consistency in my three point shot and my ability to go to the basket to score or create scoring opportunities for my teammates. 

My court vision and ability to anticipate on both ends of the court is an additional strength of mine. 

I would be honored to be able to compete at a university and positively represent my school on and off the court.
