2021 HighlightsPersonal Statement
Over my years of being an athlete I have learned how to have more mental toughness. I encountered having a low rate of mental toughness at the age of 12 when I ran the L.A. Marathon. I wanted to give up at mile 19 and I told myself I could not finish it. However, during the process of trying to finish, I learned that I could not give up on something because it was hard and tiring. I learned that I had to push through it because I had trained for so long and it wasn't worth giving it all up. Since then I have learned that you must have faith and perseverance. I've learned that to be a champion, that only through losses and mistakes do you learn to improve yourself.

- ActivitiesI am a Junior Co-Lead at a non-profit organization called Brave Global Inc. Brave is a movement for girls of the ages 12-18 who are in the foster care system and on probation. We help educate them about college, connect them to the resources they need, and mentor them. I'm also apart of another non-profit organization called Sharefest. Sharfest helps children at the ages of 11-18 by helping us to be leaders, how to use our voices and technology to bring awareness of what we believe in. We also plan a huge work day every year in April or May to beautify our communities in multiple areas.
