My name is Nia McKenzie and I am currently a sophomore attending Eaglecrest High School in Centennial, Colorado. I transferred to Eaglecrest after attending Regis Jesuit in my freshman year. I am writing this personal statement to express my desire and passion to pursue basketball at the next level. Throughout my life, I have competed and being an athlete is by trade the nature of what I do and who I am. Growing up in a household with a father who played in the NFL , my family has raised me with the premise of understanding that I must work hard. I put forth my best effort and seek to be my very best in all aspects of my life. Most importantly, I understand that being the best means to consistently work on my craft and not only will I bring this passion for myself but I lead my team in desiring to be better as well.
Off the court, I study hard and maintain a high G.P.A. I also volunteer in services clubs and I am a part of clubs on campus that are involved in making positive differences both on and off campus. It is my goal to be able to be a role model and provide an example of how hard work can open up opportunity.
I strongly desire to attend college and continue to grow in the classroom and on the court. I have big dreams and I am excited about the opportunity to find a college that will help me pursue my passion. It is my goal to make a positive impact in my community and world!
