I've had a passion for sports my whole life. I started playing as soon as I was old enough to join sports teams, and although I've tried so many, I fell in love with the game of basketball. It has always been a goal of mine to continue my academic career, along with my athletic career into college. The want to accomplish this goal pushed me to try very hard in school and take challenging classes that I could push myself in. In the future, I would like to have a career in engineering because I have always had an interest and excelled in science and math. I would also be interested in agricultural science because I grew up in a small town and have owned animals my whole life. When it comes to sports, I have always been the type of person to push myself as far as I can go to get better. Along with basketball, I play volleyball, and run track for my highschool. Doing all three of these sports has given me the opportunity to work on skills that you might not get the chance to if you were to do only one or two and it has really benefitted me. It also taught me how to balance school work with sports because I don't have an offseason all year. I take pride in being a teammate that the rest of my team can come to and trust to get my job done properly and I am always willing to step up when we need a leader. I do my best to be coachable, hardworking, and a leader on the court, as well as focused, determined, and helpful in the classroom.
