I aspire to play at the next level. When I finally gave basketball a try, I immediately fell in love with it. Because I only started playing in middle school, it has required constant work to achieve the skills necessary for success at the high school and AAU levels. It takes even more intense work and determination to be able to play in college, which is why I plan to give my all to achieve my goal.
I am primarily a center that focuses on getting rebounds and using my footwork and post moves to score. My goal is to positively impact every possession on the court on both the defensive and offensive ends. I use my height and length to contain smaller guards and block shots. Being a soccer player for my whole life has provided me with the ability to run the court well and see the floor. It also has allowed me to develop leadership and communication skills which I have applied on the court. I seek criticism from my coaches and parents, which has allowed me to be very coachable and make adjustments during games and in the offseason. I put in constant effort to improve my effectiveness in-game and overall as a basketball player. This effort is also apparent in my hustle on the court, defensively and offensively.
I work extremely hard in the classroom as well, which pays off. I am currently ranked #1 in my class with a 3.9 GPA. I study hard and apply myself not only in schoolwork but in the school community. I am the Vice President of my class and was nominated to go to the Rotary Youth Leadership meeting in Springfield by my guidance counselors and teachers.
I aim to attend a college that will allow me to grow athletically and academically. I am open to all schools hoping to find one that fits me. Somewhere that I can elevate myself and the program that I play for. Overall, my goal is to become a successful athlete, student, and person.
